Help us help others

sunshine coast

We really need your help

It is a common misconception that the Coast Guard Auxiliary is funded by the government - we are not. When you consider that the volunteers of the Coast Guard Auxiliary must raise all the funds necessary so that they can go out in all manner of weather to assist others in need (even pay for the gas) - it's hard not to answer our call for help.

Our volunteers donate countless hours of their time to train and actively participate as a significant part of the front-line response to marine distress in Canada. They must also volunteer even more of their time to actively raise the funds necessary to keep us afloat - and that's no small order:

Some of the expences we raise money for:
  • New Rescue Vessel ~ $160,000.00
  • Insurance per year ~ $10,000.00
  • Crew SAR & Survival Gear ~ $25,000.00
  • Gas and Moorage ~ $10,000.00

So we ask for your support - not for us, but for those that need us.

  • The link below will allow you to make a secure on-line donation in the amount that you desire (every little bit helps).
  • Donations are made through the Sunshine Coast Marine Rescue Society (SCMRS)
  • There are many ways you can make a donation - please contact us for more information

If you provide your address the SCMRS will provide a Tax Receipt for Canadian Citizens for all amounts over $20

The service is provided by PayPal, when you click on the link you will be re-directed to their site.
