CCGA Unit 12 Halfmoon Bay Open House

Thanking neighbours and recruiting were the themes of the day when Unit 12 held its open house on Saturday, September 27.  The aroma of fried onions wafted through the air as Unit 12's executive chef created gourmet wonders on the barbecue in front of Unit 12's station at the Jolly Roger Marina on Saturday afternoon.  Many interested people arrived to savor the culinary delights and talk boat talk/marine rescue with members of the unit. A good number of prospective members were taken for short introductory runs on the Ken Moore, the unit's fast response vessel, and everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather and calm water which happened to show up for the event. A good many application forms were taken home and Unit 12 is looking forward to adding to its ranks.  New volunteers are always welcome.  More information can be had at the Unit's website: http://www.ccga12.org.
