Unit 12, CCGA, Halfmoon Bay Seaches for missing Male
Unit 12's "Ken Moore" called out for search
Friday, 23 October, 2009The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit 12 Halfmoon Bay duty crew was paged out at 10:46 am. The rescue vessel Ken Moore left its base at 11:25 am, tasked to conduct a shoreline search for a missing male. The crew was advised to conduct its search from Halfmoon Bay to Reception Point and then cross Reception Pass and search the east side of Merry Island and Thormanby Island. At 1:05 pm the Ken Moore was contacted by the Canadian Coast Guard Vessel Cape Edenshaw out of French Creek (Command Vessel) who requested a situation report. Unit 12 advised that it was commencing a shoreline search of Thormanby Island. The Ken Moore completed its search and called the Cape Edenshaw and was advised to stand down at 1:42 pm. Unit 12 returned to station and normal operation at 1:52 pm.
