The Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific (CCGA-P) includes over 1400 volunteers throughout British Columbia who offer their time and commitment to actively provide search and rescue (SAR) services. These volunteers participate in resolving nearly one third of the SAR incidents that occur on the BC coast, either as the principal resource, or as an additional response unit.
Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary - Pacific Unit 12 is based in Halfmoon Bay BC with an area of responsibility starting at White Islets and north to McNaughton Point and half way across the Strait of Georgia. We also cover the Sechelt Inlet from Egmont to Sechelt and have been tasked for duty in areas further afield when needed.
We Need Volunteers
We currently have openings for both on and off water members. Lifeboat crews are our most visible members - but a backbone of dedicated on-shore members help keep our rescue vessels running. Volunteering with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary is a vastly rewarding experience. Bringing heightened levels of training and experiences for our crews and the life-altering taste of what it means to make a real difference in the community to all our members.
